Background: Experienced in Alpine and Scottish winter climbing, notable routes in the French and Swiss Alps include a Traverse of the Matterhorn, Papillons Arete (West Ridge of the Peigne), and several solos of moderate peaks in the Chamonix Aiguilles as well as attempts on Via Cassin, North Face Piz Badile, the South Face of the Barre des Ecrins and Aiguilles Noire de Peutery.

Venturing to the Toulbal range of the Atlas Mountains and the Todra Gorge in January 2009 to attempt new routes.

Other interests include, distance running and kickboxing.

Name: Matt Traver  Age: 23                                                    

       

Background: Started climbing in 2002 in Hong Kong. Numerous new routes on lesser-known crags, both free and aid (solo), as well as solo ascents of classic multi-pitch routes. Two new aid lines on the unclimbed Mt. Stenhouse face (solo), as well as the south face of Beaufort Island, Hong Kong.

Experience on the West Face of the Leaning Tower and the Prow, Yosemite. Attempt on 'The Scoop', Srone Ulladale, Scotland. Early spring, East to West traverse of the Sierra Nevada National Park, Southern Spain. Exploration of Burnie's Pot to 650m depth in the Dachstein region of Austria over two expeditions. Other interesting ascents includes soloing Pen-y-Fan via two routes, La Luette in Arolla, Switzerland as well as various alpine ascents of moderate peaks.
